What an absolutely fantastic way to celebrate 21 years, 19 of those married, to my absolutely favourite human.

100% recommend a pottery class @studiolehren @peoplewithgrit Tom was fantastic!

Lots of completing and installing in the last few weeks…there was this lovely piece made via a collaboration with @fi_smith_community_arts and @debbie_goldsmith.

The two artists worked with super talented children from Goosetrey Community Primary School to produce the charming round plaques with all their treasured values spelled out.

This inspired the design for the centre, that I made with generous help from ceramicists @aliwride and @cmbceramics from @peoplewithgrit Grit Studios, who advised me and kiln fired the porcelain.

The centre of the three parts was made twice because the first one unfortunately cracked during the process!

Finally, I patiently added the mosaic using a fab selection of glass and ceramic materials that in a palette put together by the three of us. Happy days👌🏼

Making a toggle chain bracelet from 1mm recycled silver wire in full... but sped up for viewing of course 😊

I forgot how satisfying it is to make chain. Yes it’s a long process, but when the length starts to build the satisfaction is great 💞

“I'm back making jewellery again after a 15 year hiatus... and my gosh it's making me happy.

I work with recycled silver and gold, also incorporating precious gems or beautiful pieces of stone or glass I find on my travels.

I don't tend to sketch my ideas as I like to just start making and see what happens.
Some of my favourite pieces are a creation where something went a bit wrong but I loved the new "look"
So these are happy, beautiful mistakes!

But... if something goes terribly wrong you just melt it and start again... after the tears of course 😭😄
No waste here 🙌🏻”

Let’s brighten up by introducing these colourful creations from the wonderful @sadie3pink

“I have been working with clay for over 30 years. I make sculptures of people and animals ( often together). I create my pieces by hand using porcelain and stoneware clays. I apply colour before the first firing in the kiln using underglazes and slips. They are finished with either a matt or shiny glaze to make the colours really bright.

I usually carry a little sketchbook with me to capture people and their pets. These drawings are the basis for my figures, although they are only ever a ceramic essence and not a portrait. I love the combination of humans and animals and clay is an easy material to mould and squeeze together to create that result.”
